i liked the game, but when you get some few upgrades,by time youre hitting the wave 5 or 6,it loses the fun,i have got some many upgrades that they got over the screen
As others have said, I think the biggest issue is just the money collection. I think you could go one of two routes:
-If money were automatically collected and then prices were tuned to reflect the increased money you'd be getting then it'd be more fun to focus on hitting the ball and killing zombies.
-Alternatively you could just make money NOT despawn. The main issue is that money despawns so quickly that by the time the horde of zombies have walked far enough away from the money for me to circle around and pick it up it's already flashing and despawning.
I feel like it is not a lag issue. When you hit the zombies with the ball there is a sort of time stop. When you hit wave 10 you are really fast so it feels laggy
very fun, as someone else mentioned it is a similar concept to batter up, although it's much harder. One complaint is that the fishing line upgrade sometimes feels like a crutch because it can actually just slow the ball down to a complete stop. other than that it's super fun, rubber + tennis is a screen wiper.
This game is way too hard ngl... Too many zombies... I can't get the money to upgrade the shop doesn't give me upgrades I can afford after the first wave. Besides that, I love the concept and the art style! Super addicting. 8/10
It does. I also finally unlocked the "knockback" ability, where swinging the doesn't kill zombies but knocks them backwards, and it kind of made the game just regular hard.
I found this game both entertaining and frustating. Although I eventually made it to wave 5 and beyond (after a lot of trying), it felt like a battle against the odds: at some point, you've figured out the main mechanics and the controls but zombies just spawn way too quickly and way too many. Also, the shop is likely to offer upgrades that you can't afford (especially in the beginning), which might be intended but to me just felt gruesome and daunting knowing that you stand little chance without them.
Nevertheless, I think the game's got a lot of potential and I still had fun with it :) Maybe you should consider adding a feature where some upgrades are kept after failing.
Wow, really cool! this reminds me of BASES LOADED which i also enjoyed a lot , but this game seems to have a bit more balanced upgrades and a lot of future potential.
the 2 things that stuck out to me and felt a bit off were the zombie spawning and exiting shop. i feel like the gravestone sprite should flash white or something right before its about to spawn, so id know if i can make it over it. also feel like there should be just a slight pause after exiting the shop, to give the player some time to react, I did get used to this after some time, but like a 0.5 second pause would really help.
Defenetly going to check out the full release i the future, for now a solid 9/10.
Damn, this is so fun, you knocked it out of the park. I love how the ball comes right back to you if you kill an enemy, it makes it so satisfying to build up a huge ball of enemies and just keep slamming the ball back and forth into the mob.
The bomb and tennis ball were crazy fun (the tennis ball in particular was really fun. Having more stuff to swing at felt really good, and having the tennis balls behave slightly differently than the baseball was really cool). Excited to see what else you come up with, feels like there’s a ton of design space here to explore. Wishlisted on Steam, good luck!
Thank you so much for kind words and wishlist! Really glad you enjoyed the game, and I'll definitely be exploring way more item combos and design decisions for the full release, hope you look forward to it!
love the game!, just reached $1600 (not alot ik). Just a lil problem when how the game just immediately resumes after pressing "confirm" in the shop which sometimes cost me a life. Maybe a quick coundown would help avoiding that issue. Another thing is there is no heads up when the shop will open, another countdown might also help with that. But great fun game so far!
https://kindanice.itch.io/bases-loaded One of my favourite games here is Bases Loaded by kindanice, so I loved learning this exists. It's similar but with a bigger map and the idea heavily expanded, I enjoyed it :)
Wow, I can't wait for a steam release! I came from YouTube and this game looks epic, I love the twist on stereotypical melee combat! Inspires me to be a better dev!
Conceptually I love this game. I just can't seem to build up enough money to get even one upgrade. Anyway, would you consider adding the arrow keys as a movement option? I think that would help me a lot.
SUPER fun game, distracted me from my own projects LMAO Only critique I have is maybe having an audio cue when a waves about to end/when the shop will pop up. Other than that, super fun, love the health ui, love the idea, would definitely play on my phone during break at work
Very cute lil game! I think it definetly needs more work design-wise but there is potential here! Most of the time spent in game is just trying to catch up to the ball, even after I got the bowling ball upgrade it was still super hard. There were a lot of situations I felt I SHOULD'VE hit the ball but didn't somehow, like when it is immediatly above me and so on and the last thing is the impact of the ball. I'd highly suggest looking into making the ball piercing or something along these lines because it feels very unsatisfying to chase a ball for half the wave just to finally hit it and kill a single enemy LOL
Other then that you have an amazing base for a game here and I can't wait to see where you take it!
This is a really neat idea! I love the strike health bar. I wasn't a fan of the shop popping up automatically, especially when I couldn't buy anything. I felt I spent most of my time chasing the ball rather than hitting it. Focusing on the position of the player, the ball, and the mouse was a lot to handle as well. Great demo!

Who needs swords and guns. Baseball + Zombies, nice bro!
The ball does not work, after hitting the walls, it stops being able to kill a zombie
You were so creativity! Good game mate

really cool. fluid controls!
love the game, the feedback of the strike is on point, bullet + strength + speed combo is really op, feel really laggy after wave 10 not sure why

Very cool game. VERY difficult, though

same, i think if i could auto colect cash when it despawned, even if it was halfed it would make it more, continuable, if that makes sense?
It does. I also finally unlocked the "knockback" ability, where swinging the doesn't kill zombies but knocks them backwards, and it kind of made the game just regular hard.
I rated your game. Can you go rate my game in return?(and possibly comment)

I feel like the bat has to do... something to the zombies.
Dope Roguelike arcadey game had lots of fun
Make It So It Auto collects Money Or At least Make It An Ability Because The Zombies Keep On Hording Over My Money
Really fun and adicting to play! My best was 5 waves survived
not bad, man

Wishing you good luck on the Steam Release!
Wow, I can't wait for a steam release! I came from YouTube and this game looks epic, I love the twist on stereotypical melee combat! Inspires me to be a better dev!
I'm glad you enjoyed the game so much!
Really cool little game, unfortunately I kept getting stuck dying immediately after the shop closed.
Conceptually I love this game. I just can't seem to build up enough money to get even one upgrade. Anyway, would you consider adding the arrow keys as a movement option? I think that would help me a lot.
Fun game. It's very statisfying to nail multiple shots in a row and to wipe a group of enemies.
Tiny issue: the music sounds mono instead of stereo, not sure if that is due to a limitation.
SUPER fun game, distracted me from my own projects LMAO

Thanks for playing! A sound cue for the wave ending is a good idea, don't know why I didn't think about it!
Neat game! Could see this as a successful little mobile game. Here are my thoughts:
+Very fun core loop
+Fun art design (cool health bar idea :)
+The different build options and upgrade-stacking is fun
-The shop auto-appearing can be disruptive
-On Wave 8 I experienced a bug where my main ball de-spawned, leaving me helpless :(
Overall fun game with a lot of promise!
Sorry the game bugged out on you like that! Thanks for the valuable feedback and advice though, hope you stick around for the full release!

Thank you for the feedback! In the next versions, I'll be adding some new features so the ball isn't as much trouble to track down!

Good point about the shop! It seems it is a point of contention for many people haha
Fun arcade experience that I could see expanding in many ways! Only got to wave 3 but I'll be back to get my revenge.
Hehe, thanks for playing!
Why does this have erotic in tags?
Baseballs turn me on
